T-Pain Finds His Own Way on Inspirational Single ‘On This Hill’

The song was released for Mental Health Awareness Month

T-Pain has released a new single, “On This Hill,” which reflects on mental health and standing up for yourself. The musician has shared the song in honor of Mental Health Awareness Month and teamed up with Talkspace to give away free therapy to his fans for up to a year.

“This song is really about refusing to be gaslit anymore,” T-Pain said in a statement. “It’s about coming to a realization that I have to stand up for myself. Over the years, that has just been something I’ve had to open my eyes to and learn how to deal with it. So yeah, I’ll die on this hill, ha!”

T-Pain’s last album, On Top of the Covers, arrived in 2023. It featured covers of songs by musicians like Sam Smith, Frank Sinatra, and Black Sabbath. In November, T-Pain teamed up with Snoop Dogg for collaborative single “That’s How We Ballin.” The pair dropped a music video that paid homage to Pee-wee’s Big Adventure.

“I was on a flight from LA to Atlanta and couldn’t sleep, so I looked for movies to keep me entertained. Pee-wee’s Big Adventure came up and I couldn’t help myself,” T-Pain told Rolling Stone. “After watching the movie, I put on my personal headphones to listen to the recent music I had done. ‘That’s How We Ballin’ came on first and I immediately made the connection. I texted my NappyBoy Films crew and let them know ‘We have to do this!’”

Later this month, T-Pain will hit the road for his Mansion In Wiscansin Party Tour. The tour, which takes its name from a lyric in his 2008 hit “Can’t Believe It,” kicks off in Houston on May 29. It will feature a special Juneteenth Celebration at The Hollywood Bowl with Color of Noise Orchestra, as well as his third annual Wiscansin Fest at the Rave/Eagles Club in Milwaukee and a headline show at Central Park SummerStage. Later this summer, the musician will join Pitbull for the Party After Dark Tour.
