Victoria Monét Drops Out of Festivals Due to ‘Ongoing Health Issues’

Victoria Monét will no longer perform at Governors Ball, Blavity, and Roots Picnic next month. In an Instagram Story Monday, the Grammy winner announced she would skip the festivals to address “ongoing health issues.“

“I am so sorry!! Candidly, I have been dealing with some ongoing health issues that have to be addressed right now, but I will be back out there soon, that’s a promise!” Monét wrote. “Please know it wasn’t an easy call but it’s definitely for the best.”

“All other shows are still moving forward as planned,” she added. “See you soon.”

Monét was scheduled to perform at Roots Picnic in Philadelphia on June 1, Governors Ball in Queens, and Blavity House Party Fest in Nashville on June 15.

As mentioned in her post, the singer will resume her festival tour at the end of July. She’ll perform at Broccoli City Festival on July 27, before performing at Lollapalooza, Outside Lands, and London’s All Points East Festival in August.

Although it’s unclear which health issues she refers to in her post, the singer opened up about dealing with PCOS, or polycystic ovary syndrome, last month.

In an Instagram story, the singer shared photos of herself at Coachella, and said she noticed that she was gaining “a lot of weight and it went a lot of places lol face, arms, tummy and most effectively… datassss.”

“I usually am so critical and frustrated by it because PCOS has me really messed up, but optimistically at least now there’s two moons on the stage,” she jokingly added alongside a crying face emoji, referring to her stage design.
